Colby Road Kitchen – A Colourful, Characterful Space in South East London
About This Project
Designed for a pair of young professionals, the Colby Road Kitchen is anything but ordinary. A bold palette of teal and deep clay red sets the tone, while refined details ensure it never feels overdone. Open shelving and glass-fronted cabinets add rhythm and variety, and the Carrara marble worktops introduce softness to balance the colour. A butcher’s block island brings a tactile, practical centre to the space — warm, personal, and built for real life.
This kitchen was all about balancing boldness with clarity. The brief called for personality and joy — colours that energise the room but still work in harmony. Every detail, from the glass-fronted cabinets to the oak butcher’s block, was chosen to bring softness and variation. It’s a space that makes a strong first impression but never overwhelms. Vibrant, balanced, and full of character.
